As part of the All Points: North project, the creative team were delighted to have gained permission to film inside the Indian Community Centre on Clifton Street. The building is steeped in history, with beautiful spacious meeting spaces, landings and stairways and glorious stained glass windows, including the stunning ‘flower’-design window that we used as a backdrop for Hannah McPhillimy’s performance.

The building is also home to Northern Ireland’s only Hindu temple, with worshippers travelling from across Ireland to attend.

The Indian Community Centre is located on Clifton Street Belfast and was originally part of the Carlisle Methodist Memorial Church, which was built in 1876. Designed in the Gothic Revival style by noted architect W. H. Lynn and completed in 1875, the church was home to one of the largest Methodist congregations in Belfast. The church was purchased by the ICC in 1980, and the building is now home to an organisation that promotes integration between the Indian community and the wider Northern Ireland communities, through cultural activities, workshops and outreach.
