Gary Lutton

Gary Lutton is a guitarist, composer and researcher based in Belfast. His style blends contemporary fingerstyle guitar techniques with improvisational approaches borrowed from jazz and world musics. In 2015, Gary won Sky Arts’ Guitar Star, and subsequently toured with Thomas Leeb, Nitin Sawhney and many others. He then went on to complete his PhD in music at Ulster University and form the fusion/world group, Dionys Ensemble. Gary also runs the Belfast Guitar Night, a regular event featuring artists such as Will McNicol, Karlijn Langendijk and Jule Malischke, among others.
