This Ship Argo is the moniker of Aileen McKenna, an electronic music producer based in Belfast who combines synths, vocals and samples to create beautiful soundscapes. A prolific producer, This Ship Argo’s work is written, recorded, mixed, produced and mastered in her home studio. Aileen has released two albums, earning her a place in the final of the Northern Irish Music Prize Album of the year 2021, with Always the Bees: Never the Honey.
Aileen’s material has been championed by the likes of Daniel Avery and Hannah Peel, securing her a place in the Peel fronted Northern Ireland Electronic Workshop.
In addition to her solo work, Aileen has created scores to accompany films for the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival and collaborated with Heliopause (Richard Davis) for Carl Theodor-Dreyer’s “The Passion of Joan of Arc”, which was performed live in both Belfast and Brighton.
